I had to be in Mitchell, SD for Dakotafest for work this August. So, Rett and I decided to make a family vacation out of it and explore the great west! We were a bit nervous to take Emma at two and a half years old on a big road trip...but with a goodie bag for each long leg, DVDs and the iPad we decided to go for it.
We flew into Omaha first. We stayed downtown for one night so we could be fresh for our first driving leg of the trip.

On day two, we started off for Sioux Falls where we would stay for the next couple of nights and commute into Mitchell, SD for Dakotafest and of course the Corn Palace.

I remember visiting the Corn Palace when I was a kid! How funny! Such a great trip. Can't wait to see the rest of the pictures! Also, you're going to have to give me tips on how to entertain a kid in the car. We can barely drive to Chesterfield without a major meltdown. Mac HATES the car.
